THE IMPACT OF EXPLICIT TEACHING OF VERB COLLOCATIONS ON IMPROVING UPPER-INTERMEDIATE EFL LEARNERS’ WRITING SKILL

Although impeccable development of collocation is critical concern to second language acquisition, EFL learners may find it excessively demanding deal. Therefore, the present study investigated impact teaching verb as an assimilated element collocations on improving Iranian upper-intermediate learners’ writing ability via explicit leading method. Results numerous studies have shown understanding highly depend their levels English language. In this study, first, 100 candidates been invited meet required standards accordingly. Then 40 participants were selected by conducting Oxford Placement Test. A quasi-experimental design was applied with steps inquiring about outcome, a pretest and subsequently posttest administered based MELAB paper-based test assess competence rating scale.
